When you use Car Social, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • IP address

  • Browser and device type

  • Operating system

  • Device identifiers

  • Referring and exit pages

  • Pages and features viewed

  • Dates and times of access

  • Cookie and similar technology information

We use this information to operate, secure, understand, and improve Car Social.

2. Location Information

Certain Car Social features may use location information to help users discover nearby events, clubs, automotive businesses, content, and other relevant experiences.

With your permission, future mobile features may also collect more precise location information using technologies such as GPS.

For example, Car Social may offer features such as a Live Map that allow participating users to share or use location information as part of the experience.

Where required, we will request permission before accessing precise device location. The availability and behavior of location features may depend on the permissions and settings you select.

You can generally control device-level location permissions through your mobile device settings.

Car Social will not intentionally make your precise real-time location publicly visible unless you choose to participate in a feature that provides for such sharing.

If future functionality requires background location access, we will provide appropriate disclosures and request the necessary permissions before using that functionality.

3. Vehicle and Performance Information

Car Social allows users to create vehicle profiles and garages containing information about their vehicles.

Future features may also allow users to record, submit, or generate vehicle-performance information. Depending on the feature, this could include information such as acceleration results, speed, elapsed time, distance, timestamps, GPS-derived measurements, rankings, challenge results, or related performance information.

We may use this information to provide performance features, challenges, comparisons, leaderboards, statistics, achievements, and related functionality.

Certain performance information may be visible to other users when you choose to participate in public features such as leaderboards or challenges.

4. Camera, Photos and Media

Car Social may request access to your device's camera or photo library when you choose to upload or create photographs, videos, profile images, vehicle media, event content, or other media.

We use this access only to provide the features you request, subject to your device permissions.

You can modify these permissions through your device settings.

5. Social and Community Information

Car Social includes, and may continue to introduce, social and community features.

Depending on the features you use, we may process information relating to:

  • Connections, followers, or friends

  • Club membership

  • Event participation or interest

  • Likes, reactions, comments, and shares

  • Posts and other user-generated content

  • Challenges, badges, achievements, points, and leaderboard rankings

  • Messages and other communications

  • Users you block or report

  • Other interactions with the Car Social community

Some of this information may be publicly visible depending on the feature and your settings.

6. Public Information

Car Social is designed around discovery and interaction. Information you choose to make public may be visible to anyone, including people who do not have a Car Social account.

Public information may include your username, profile image, biography, vehicles, garage, posts, media, Founder number or status, badges, achievements, leaderboard results, club affiliations, event activity, business information, content creator information, and other content you make public.

Public pages may also be indexed by search engines and shared outside Car Social.

Do not publicly post information you do not want others to see.

7. Messages and Communications

Car Social may provide direct messages, group communications, comments, forums, or other communication features.

We may process and retain communications as necessary to provide these features, investigate reports, prevent abuse, maintain security, enforce our policies, and comply with applicable law.

Private communications are not intended to be publicly displayed merely because they are processed by Car Social.

8. Contacts and Invitations

If Car Social introduces features that allow you to find or invite people using your device contacts, we will request appropriate permission before accessing your contacts.

We will explain how contact information will be used when such functionality is introduced.

You are not required to provide access to your contacts to use Car Social unless a particular optional feature requires it.

Browser, device, and platform settings may also provide controls over certain tracking technologies.

11. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

Other users and the public. Information you intentionally make public or share with others may be visible to those users or the public.

Service providers. We may provide information to companies that help us operate Car Social, including providers of cloud infrastructure, hosting, databases, analytics, email, authentication, communications, security, customer support, payments, and other technology.

Businesses and transaction participants. If you use future booking, marketplace, or transaction features, information necessary to complete or manage the interaction may be provided to the applicable business or participant.

Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or abuse, protect rights or property, or protect the safety of Car Social, our users, or others.

Business transactions. Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.

We may also use or disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

12. Sale, Sharing and Targeted Advertising

Car Social does not sell personal information for money.

Certain privacy laws define terms such as “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly than an exchange of information for money. Depending on the technologies Car Social uses, certain advertising or analytics activities may fall within those definitions.

Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of such processing, Car Social will provide the required mechanism for exercising that right.

We will update our disclosures and privacy controls as our advertising and analytics practices evolve.

13. Payments, Bookings and Transactions

Car Social may introduce features that allow users to book services, make payments, purchase products or services, or otherwise transact with businesses or other participants.

Payment card information may be processed directly by third-party payment processors rather than Car Social.

We may retain transaction-related information necessary to provide the Services, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, process refunds, support reviews, and comply with legal obligations.

Third-party payment providers process information according to their own privacy policies.

14. Founding Members, Referrals, Challenges and Leaderboards

Participation in certain Car Social programs may generate information such as Founder numbers, referral activity, points, badges, achievements, rankings, challenge results, or similar information.

Some of this information may be displayed publicly as part of the applicable feature.

If you participate in these features, information associated with your participation may remain part of legitimate platform records even if certain account information later changes.

15. Content Moderation and Safety

We may collect and retain information associated with reports, complaints, blocked accounts, suspected fraud, policy violations, moderation decisions, and other safety matters.

We may use automated systems and human review where appropriate to help detect abuse, protect users, enforce our policies, and maintain the integrity of Car Social.

If Car Social later introduces materially different automated or artificial-intelligence-based processing of personal information, we may update this Privacy Policy and provide additional disclosures where appropriate.

16. Third-Party Accounts and Services

Car Social may allow users to connect or authenticate through third-party services, such as Apple, Google, or other platforms.

If you choose to use such functionality, we may receive information permitted by your settings and authorization with that provider.

For example, an authentication provider may provide your name, email address, unique account identifier, or relay email address.

Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

17. External Links

Car Social may link to event websites, businesses, registration platforms, social networks, content creators, advertisers, or other third-party services.

Car Social does not control the privacy practices of those third parties. Information you provide directly to an external service is governed by that service's privacy policy.

18. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing Car Social, maintaining business and transaction records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and abuse, enforcing agreements, and maintaining platform security.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and why it is being processed.

We may retain certain records after account deletion where reasonably necessary or legally required, including transaction records, fraud-prevention information, security records, moderation records, and information necessary to establish or defend legal claims.

Backup copies may remain for a limited period until they are overwritten or deleted through normal backup processes.

19. Account Deletion and Privacy Choices

You may request deletion of your Car Social account and associated personal information, subject to applicable legal and operational exceptions.

Deleting an account may not immediately remove:

  • Content previously shared with or copied by others

  • Information other users independently submitted

  • Transaction or booking records we are required or permitted to retain

  • Fraud, security, or moderation records

  • Information retained to comply with law

  • Temporary backup copies

Car Social may also provide settings that allow you to manage profile visibility, communications, location permissions, notifications, and other privacy choices.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Receive a portable copy of certain information

  • Opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing where applicable

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • Appeal certain privacy-request decisions where required by law

These rights vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to exceptions.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate verification.

Privacy requests may be submitted using the contact information below.

21. Global Privacy Control and Browser Signals

Where required by applicable law and technically applicable to our processing, Car Social will recognize legally required opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.

Some browsers also offer “Do Not Track” settings. Because there is not a universally applicable standard governing all such signals, our response may depend on the signal and applicable law.

22. Email, Push Notifications and Communications

We may send transactional communications concerning your account, security, activity, bookings, services, or important changes to Car Social.

If you subscribe to marketing emails or newsletters, you can unsubscribe from marketing communications using the link provided in those messages.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary transactional, account, security, or legal communications.

Future mobile applications may also offer push notifications. You can generally control push-notification permissions through your device settings.

23. Data Security

Car Social uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, encryption, authentication protections, monitoring, backups, and other security practices appropriate to our Services.

However, no internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and should contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

24. Children's Privacy

Car Social is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or use the Services.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Certain features may have higher age requirements where appropriate.

Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Car Social should contact us.

25. International Users

Car Social is based in the United States.

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, processed, or stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where Car Social or our service providers operate.

Privacy laws in these locations may differ from those in your country.

As Car Social expands internationally, we may provide additional jurisdiction-specific notices or rights where required by law.

26. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Car Social will continue to evolve. We may update this Privacy Policy as we introduce new features, change our practices, work with different service providers, or respond to legal or regulatory requirements.

When we update the policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date.

If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through Car Social, by email, or through another appropriate method.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
